Bioengineering M.S. Degree
The Bioengineering Program offers an M.S. degree. The M.S. degree requires 21 hours of coursework comprised of a mixture of bioscience, mathematics, bioengineering, traditional engineering and elective classes and sucessful completion of a M.S. Thesis. Some schools offer a non-thesis M.S., though most participants are enrolled via Georgia Tech's B.S./M.S. program.
Prospective students do not need to apply for an M.S. to pursue the Ph.D., and are discouraged from doing so if the Ph.D. is their intended final degree. While individual schools vary, students are generally admitted to the M.S. program with no guaranty of financial support. Admission to the M.S. program is as competitive as the Ph.D. program.
Detailed information on all program requirements are available in the Handbook. Many questions are answered on our Frequently Asked Questions page.
